Freaking Funny - Lighting

Here is my lighting work for Freaking Funny, a horror short film created in Unreal Engine.

Lighting was one of my favorite parts of the project, as it played a major role in shaping the atmosphere and storytelling of each scene. My goal was not only to illuminate the environments but also to support the gradual progression of the horror throughout the film, giving every sequence its own identity, mood, and emotional impact.

For the first environment, I was responsible for the lighting as well as the environment modeling and texturing. For the remaining environments, I contributed to parts of the modeling, created most of the textures, and handled all of the lighting.

Working on a cinematic project in Unreal Engine was both challenging and rewarding. It gave me the opportunity to explore a wide range of atmospheres, from subtle tension to more unsettling and oppressive moods, while learning how lighting can guide the viewer's attention and reinforce the narrative.
